The synergy of quality, efficiency, and reliable support

A prominent hospital situated in the Northeastern United States embarked on a critical initiative to modernize their fluid cooling system, which served as the cornerstone for an enterprise data center within their healthcare infrastructure. The existing equipment had reached the end of its operational life, necessitating a comprehensive upgrade.

The issue stemmed from the condition of the dry coolers’ coils, which had become soft due to the customer spraying them during days of elevated ambient temperatures. This was done out of necessity to keep the leaving fluid temperature within the design specifications. These dry coolers were not designed to utilize water to obtain additional heat rejection, unlike the VIRGA adiabatic coolers.

The hospital contractor was in the design/build phase of the project, which allowed NIMBUS to play a pivotal role as a key partner within the project team. NIMBUS actively contributed to the development process by selecting equipment tailored to the unique load profile of the Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) coolers.

After a nine-month period of deliberations and planning, the final equipment selections were made. When asked about the rationale behind choosing NIMBUS and Stillwell Hansen (the representative group for NIMBUS products in the Northeast), the customer explained that the compelling attributes of NIMBUS’s high-quality products and operational efficiency, paired with the unwavering support provided by Stillwell Hansen in terms of local service and ready access to spare parts were pivotal factors in the decision.

This synergy of quality, efficiency, and reliable support collectively culminated in the successful deployment of seven VRGA005 adiabatic coolers, marking a significant milestone in the hospital’s infrastructure enhancement journey.
